Do you ever miss the old stuff?

I am finding trance to be quite boring (too samey) and drab these last years. Alot the new sets I get just don't seem to be doing it for me anymore. Maybe it's because everyone's using the same software to produce, making it sound like the last track... maybe it's because there are too many digital labels pumping out the trax as fast as they can, doesn't matter if it's a good track or not... I dunno, but it is all sounding a bit too samey for me these days.

Back in the day... there were a lot more LIVE sets available, and this could be the reason too; as radio sets are too planned out and not as spontaneous to hold the same energy as a live set. The dj's today just seem to be going thru a routine, a very van boring routine (personally, I feel that avb ruined the scene for us some years ago, and now he's number 1. Go figure!)

I continually find myself playing the old guys like nu nrg, dumonde, alphazone (still love Tiane's alphazone mix, one of me favs!) and the old style dj irish, cosmicman, gouyrella, old tiesto... just to mention a few. I defo miss the productions of Ace da Brain too (absolute brilliance!).

What went wrong?

Do you all ever miss some of the old style epic trance sounds? Or am I being too old skool?

I grew out of the scene, mostly because of this. Good old times with thrillseekers, A&B, Svenson and Gielen, etc...

Welcome back TR!

I am beginning to think that I am also moving away from the trance scene, but I just can't stop dling sets hoping to find something special. But, it just isn't too special anymore and I mostly delete all new sets because they aren't worth keeping.

The trance scene seems to be in a sad state of disrepair atm.

I have thought that at times...but not all the time... I keep hope alive and find some pretty good new stuff here and there...most notably and recently, my friend just sent me this link - http://djoljick.blogspot.com/

This DJ has some good stuff in my opinion...

Have a listen and let me know what you think

Hope you're all well & Keep hope/trance alive haha

Re: Do you ever miss the old stuff?

You know, I have my tables right here in front of me but haven't in ages haha... plus everyone's using cd's or laptops to mix...just haven't had the time I'd like to to do it lately but who knows...that could always change

I'm sure there are tons of peeps here that still do though. There's always new and upcoming talent! It'd be nice to hear some here So if you know of someone with said talent...ask them to post their mixes here
